Association between cervical cancer-related anxiety and depression symptoms and health-related quality of life: A Moroccan cross-sectional study

IntroductionHealth-related quality of life (HRQoL) cervical cancer patients treated by Concurrent Chemoradiation (CCRT) in Morocco is influenced multiple concomitant factors that affect patients’ post-treatment physical and psychosocial well-being. Therefore, the assessment health related may help identify groups risk for future interventions improving life.MethodThis study aimed at assessing HRQoL its association to psychological distress 103 with CCRT Morocco. The was performed using EORTC-QLQ-C30 HADS questionnaires.ResultsCervical had diminished functional dimensions ("emotional functioning", “physical functioning” “role averages 51.78, 54.17, 58.74, respectively) high level symptomatic mean scores 58.90 “Appetite loss’, 38.83 “financial difficulties”, 45.31 “insomnia”, 45.42 “fatigue”, 46.28 “pain”. anxiety depression symptoms showed majority (62.1%), (61.2%). Emotional functioning, fatigue insomnia were main predictors disorders women cancer. Lower emotional functioning greater contributed significantly higher level.ConclusionsHRQoL status Moroccan undergoing negatively affected. These findings suggest patient care policies should include strategies HRQoL, mainly through support education as well prevention or reduction treatment complications.
